SI Music w/ Emphasis on emotion and Album Covers

For this project I explored the impact music has on people with an emphasis on emotion portrayed in albums.
This is the rough draft with ideas on what to do. I continually updated this as I went. On the top right corner I put symbols to indicate the colors I wanted to use, then I used objects like the record and the person as place markers for what I ended up putting in.
I started off with a image of half a record and the record cover. The image was then placed in front of a wood wall. After that, I outlined the record cover and added a white border with a blue background over inside of the border. I also made the inside of the record blue and added blue highlights onto the record. When I had the cover and record blue, I added a gray background to what would soon be the framed record. Lastly, I added a black frame and changed the blue circle in the interior of the record to part of a smiley face. The emphasis of this piece was emotion and more specifically positivity and happiness, so I felt that a smiley face was a better representation of this than the original blue mini circle.
Originally, I chose a picture of a person smiling to show the emotion emphasis, however, it didn't make sense to me because he had no affiliation with music. Ultimately I used a picture of Pharrell Williams, the singer of the famous song Happy. I used an image of him and was dissatisfied with the way it looked on the album, so I added poster edges on the image using the filter gallery along with brightness and levels changes to show more detail  in color changes. I repeated the same process that I used of Pharrell Williams to make the microphone, which is symbolic of him being a singer rather than playing some sort of instrument. The final thing I added was the word "Happy" above Pharrell Williams' head as a double entendre for his famous song and the topic I was putting an emphasis on for the exploration of my topic.
The final process was adding the glass over the image to go with the frame. The original image is show to the left before I edited out the gray background. The background on the glass was a two toned gray checkered design and I had to remove each one individually using the background eraser tool. Along the way, I encountered many problems such as the change in color of the glass which caused me to make selections. Each selection was made to prevent the glass from changing color. When I finished the process of making the image translucent, like glass is, I placed it over and stretched it to cover the album. Lastly, I made brightness and levels changes to make the wood and albums more dark and less impacted by the glass.
This is the final project incorporating my interpretation of music with emphasis on positive emotions and album covers.
